  • midas. Myrmecia midas Clark, 1951: 55, figs. 34, 35 (w. subapterous q.) AUSTRALIA (New South Wales, Queensland).
    • Type-material: holotype worker, paratype workers, paratype queens (numbers not stated).
    • Type-localities: holotype + paratypes Australia: New South Wales, Dorrigo (R. Heron), New South Wales, Brooklana (W.W. Froggatt), Queensland, National Park, Mt Tambourine (H. Hacker).
    • [Note: original description gives no indication which series contains the holotype, but Taylor & Brown, 1985: 13, cite Dorrigo.]
    • Type-depository: ANIC.
    • Status as species: Taylor & Brown, 1985: 13; Taylor, 1987a: 44; Ogata, 1991a: 358; Ogata & Taylor, 1991: 1635 (in key); Bolton, 1995b: 272.
