- Type-material: holotype worker, 197 paratype workers.
- Type-locality: holotype Costa Rica: Puntarenas, Monteverde, 10°18’N, 84°39’W, 1100 m., 7.viii.1985, no. 691 (J. Longino); paratypes with same data.
- Type-depositories: LACM (holotype); BMNH, JTLC, LACM, MCZC, USNM (paratypes).
- Status as species: Bolton, 1995b: 167; Fernández & Serna, 2019: 850.
- Distribution: Colombia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua.
