Key to Brachyponera species based on the worker caste.
The distinction between the four species, Brachyponera flavipes, Brachyponera batak, Brachyponera pilidorsalis and Brachyponera nigrita is principally based on Yamane (2007). The subspecies Brachyponera nigrita nigritella is not included.
