No formal diagnosis was provided when this species was described. Comparative note is ‘Differs from all known species of Gesomyrmex by combination of elongate head with concave occipital margin and position of eyes’. The diagnostic value of the elongate head is not ascertained by our morphometric investigation, and other characters are questionable based on taphonomy. In the absence of compelling diagnostic features for this species it should be considered a possible synonym of Gesomyrmex hoernesi (Aria et al., 2023).
