    • Type-material: syntype major and minor workers (numbers not stated).
    • Type-locality: Mozambique: Delagoa (= Maputo) (no collector’s name).
    • Type-depository: NHMB.
    • [Note: Santschi says the specimens were received from Forel, therefore others may be in MHNG.]
    • Combination in C. (Tanaemyrmex): Emery, 1925b: 98.
    • Subspecies of compressus: Emery, 1925b: 98; Arnold, 1926: 294; Bolton, 1995b: 118.
    • Distribution: Mozambique.
