• clavata. Aphaenogaster clavata Emery, 1877b: 372 (w.) ETHIOPIA. Combination in Pheidole: Emery, 1892a: 114.

Type Material

• Syntype, 4 worker, Bogos, Keren, Eritrea, 1870, O. Beccari, Naturhistorisches Museum Wien, Vienna; see Madl (2019).

Two specimens are pinned with the original locality labels and two are without them. Mayr (1895) published the type specimens without indicating their number.
