- Type-material: holotype worker, paratype workers, paratype queens, paratype males (numbers not stated).
- Type-locality: holotype Morocco: Gorges du Todra, 1550 m. (no collector’s name; probably H. Cagniant); paratypes with same data.
- Type-depositories: MNHN (holotype); HCPC, MNHN (paratypes).
- Status as species: Borowiec, L. 2014: 54.
- Distribution: Morocco.

Etymology
In homage to my colleague and friend X. Espadaler who was my expedition companion during several years in Morocco and who discovered the first nest.
