Taxonomic Notes

This taxon was collected in the city of Alger. There are no types in the Gustav Mayr collection in Naturhistorisches Museum Wien, Vienna. The original description suggests a relatedness to Camponotus guanchus, Camponotus ruber and Camponotus sicheli niger but it does not allow conclusions on synonymies with these taxa (Seifert, 2019).
