    • Type-material: 224 syntype major and minor workers, 20 syntype queens, 20 syntype males.
    • Type-locality: Morocco: Anti-Atlas, Jbel El Kest, 9 km. NW Tafraoute, “as a bird flies” (Tafraoute is situated 95 km. SE Agadir “as a bird flies”), 1800 m., 26.iv.1990 (H. Cagniant).
    • Type-depositories: HCPC, MNHN.
    • [Note: stated in original description as related to cruentatus, obscuriventris, pexus; hence implied subgenus C. (Myrmosericus): Bolton, 1995b: 103.]
