Temnothorax conatensis Galkowski & Lebas, 2016 |
This species was discovered in the Conat Nature Reserve within the Eastern Pyrenees of eastern France. The ants were found in areas that that were open and dominated by limestone rock, with colonies nesting either in fissures in the rock or under mossy cover interspersed on the sloped rock faces. Nest size appears to be small. Fifty workers were found in the the largest of the three nests that were best excavated (there was some difficulty in finding the entire nest due to the rock).
