Nomenclature
The following information is derived from Barry Bolton's Online Catalogue of the Ants of the World.
- mesoamericana. Rasopone mesoamericana Longino & Branstetter, 2020: 24, figs. 5, 12 (w.q.) GUATEMALA, MEXICO (Chiapas), HONDURAS, NICARAGUA, COSTA RICA.
- Type-material: holotype worker, 4 paratype workers.
- Type-locality: holotype Guatemala: Zacapa, 3.5 km. SE La Union, 14.95, -89.27±?, 1500 m., 6.vi.1991, RSA91-053, cloud forest, forest litter (R.S. Anderson); paratypes with same data but 4.vi.1991, RSA91-050.
- Type-depositories: California Academy of Sciences (holotype); Museum of Comparative Zoology, University of California, Davis, National Museum of Natural History, Colección de Artrópodos (paratypes).
- Distribution: Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua.
