- rugaticeps. Pheidole rugaticeps Emery, 1877b: 375 (s.w.q.) ETHIOPIA. Current subspecies: nominal plus arabs.
Type Material
- Syntype, 1 worker, 2 workers (1 pin), 2 soldiers, Bogos, Sciotel, 21–26 km SW Keren, near the mountain Zad Amba (Zadamba), Eritrea, 15°35′0″N 38°20′0″E / 15.583333°N 38.333333°E, 1870, O. Beccari, Naturhistorisches Museum Wien, Vienna; see Madl (2019).
All specimens are pinned with the original locality labels except one soldier.
