Description
From Wilson (2003): With Pheidole cyrtostela, unique within Pheidole for the sharply bent petiole and depressed petiolar node, as seen from the side, in both major and minor. Distinguished from cyrtostela by the more exaggerated form of the petiolar modification, the absence of rugoreticula on the head of the major, and the narrowed occiput of the minor.
MEASUREMENTS (mm) Paratype major: HW 0.94, HL 0.96, SL 0.74, EL 0.20, PW 0.50. Paratype minor: HW 0.44, HL 0.56, SL 0.64, EL 0.14, PW 0.34.
COLOR Major: concolorous light reddish brown.
Minor: concolorous yellowish red except for gaster, which is plain medium brown.
