Identification
Zhou (2001) - Resembles Leptogenys hysterica, but differs from the latter in: antennae with the 2nd funicular segment 1.2-1.25 X as long as the 1st one; mesopronotal suture incised deeply; pilosity dense.

Description
Worker
Holotype: TL 8.2, HL 1.60, HW 1.03, CI 61, SL 1.67, SI 166, PW 0. 97, AL 2.67, ED 0.26, PH 0.97, PNL 0.88, DPW 0.84.
Paratypes: TL 7.9~8.5, HL 1.60~1.68, HW 0.97~1.06, CI 60~66, SL 1.52~1.72, SI 143~172, PW 0.91~1.00, AL 2.42~2.67, ED 0.25~0.31, PH 0.88~0.98, PNL 0.53~0.88, DPW 0.81~0.88.
Head longer than broad, with straight sides and rounded occipital border. Mandibles longitudinal, masticatory border without tooth. Clypeus triangular, with median carina, anterior border rounded. Frontal lobes narrowly apart, median groove reaching midlength of head. Antennal scapes long, extending beyond the occipital border. The 2nd funicular segment 1.2~1.25 X as long as the 1st one. Eyes large, situated in front of the sides of head. Promesonotum slightly convex above, promesonotal suture distinct; mesopropodeal suture incised deeply; propodeal basal face slightly convex, longer than declivity. Petiolar node thick and stout, anterior face rounded, posterior face straight, semicircular in profile view, as long as broad (one individual longer than broad, another broader than long). Gaster longer than alitrunk.
Mandibles and clypeus with longitudinal striations; head, alitrunk, petiolar node and first gastral segment densely and coarsely punctate; basal half of the 2nd gastral segment sparsely punctate, the remaining gastral segments smooth and shining. Erect hairs yellow, short, fine, abundant on entire body. Pubescence abundant.
Color fuscous red; mandibles, antennae, legs and apical gaster reddish brown.
Type Material
Holotype worker, Huashuichong Natural Reserve, Guangxi, 31.VIII.1998, Shanyi Zhou leg. Para types 3 workers, data as holotype.
