Lasius nigrescens Stitz, 1930 |
This species is only known from the alate gynes of the type series.
Identification
Seifert (2020) - The type series of gynes is the only collection of L. nigrescens. Considering the correlations that usually exist between gyne and worker morphology in Lasius, the worker of this species is expected to have a long scape (SL/CS900 perhaps 1.06), an average head length index (CL/CW900 perhaps 1.07), and numerous setae on underside of head and hind tibiae.

Countries Occupied
Number of countries occupied by this species based on AntWiki Regional Taxon Lists. In general, fewer countries occupied indicates a narrower range, while more countries indicates a more widespread species. |
Estimated Abundance
Relative abundance based on number of AntMaps records per species (this species within the purple bar). Fewer records (to the left) indicates a less abundant/encountered species while more records (to the right) indicates more abundant/encountered species. |
