- quadrinotata. Formica quadrinotata Losana, 1834: 320, pl. 36, fig. 4 (w.) ITALY. Unidentifiable to genus; incertae sedis in Formica: Bolton, 1995b: 202. [Mayr, 1855: 389 (footnote) suggests a combination in Ponera. Emery, 1916b: 105, suspected that this was synonymous with Cryptopone ochracea, but the description is not convincing.]
