  • striata. Echinopla striata Smith, F. 1857a: 80 (w.) WEST MALAYSIA. Donisthorpe, 1942e: 709 (q.). Current subspecies: nominal plus aciculata, gibbosa, goramensis.

The following notes on F. Smith type specimens have been provided by Barry Bolton (details):

One syntype worker in Oxford University Museum of Natural History. Labelled “21 MAL.” and with a Donisthorpe type-label. Second syntype not found (Smith states, “I have seen only two individuals.”), but Oxford University Museum of Natural History also has Smith coll. specimens from “Tond.”, “Sum.”, “Mak.” and “Cer.” (Tondano and Makassar in Sulawesi, Sumatra and Seram I.).
