Dorylus fulvus saharensis Santschi, 1926 |
Taylor et al. (2018) suggest that this taxon is a junior synonym of Dorylus oraniensis (which is a junior synonym of Dorylus fulvus juvenculus), stating that the smallest of the workers of Dorylus oraniensis from Benin exactly matches the minima worker of D. saharensis (CASENT0911366). This treatment does not discuss the status of Dorylus oraniensis (as a distinct species rather than a junior synonym) and has not been followed by subsequent authors.
