BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

D.A. Dubovikoff wrote the following in an issue of the Caucasian Entomological Bulletin (2015 11(1):7) dedicated to the memory of G.M. Dlussky:

Professor Gennady Mikhailovich Dlussky passed away on the 1st of May 2014 at the age of 77. Gennady Mikhailovich is no longer with us for more than one year. It is indeed an irreplaceable loss for several generations of the Russian myrmecologists, his friends, colleagues, and students. Gennady Mikhailovich was the founder of the Russian paleomyrmecological academic school, and during the last decades was the world recognized academic leader in the field. However, his research interests in myrmecology were not limited by fossil ants only. Unfortunately, Gennady Mikhailovich did not manage to complete all the planned works of his... Undoubtedly, huge scientific heritage left by Gennady Mikhailovich will be further preserved and developed by his colleagues and students. We shall forever keep the memory of our Teacher, Colleague, and Friend!

The current issue of our journal is dedicated to the blessed memory of G.M. Dlussky and includes articles on the taxonomy, paleontology, and ecology of ants and other groups of insects.
