Identification
Zhou (2001) - Resembles Cryptopone sauteri, but differs from the latter in head broader posteriorly than in front; mandible with 6 teeth; basal face of propodeum convex, not straight; transparent strip of subpetiolar process narrow, not triangular.

Description
Worker
Holotype worker: TL 2.1, HL 0.51, HW 0.40, CI 78, SL 0.37, SI 92, PW 0.31, AL 0.65.
Paratypes 3 workers: TL 3.3~3. 6, HL 0.72~0.77, HW 0.65~0.73, CI 95~96, SL 0.47~0.50, SI 68~72, PW 0.50~0.55, AL 1.06~1.12, PL 0.25~0.28, PH 0.42~0.49, DPW 0.31~0.33.
Head longer than broad, broader posteriorly than in front, occipital border and sides substraight. Mandible with 6 teeth. Clypeus narrow, anterior border vertical elevate. Frontal lobes narrowly apart, median sulcus extending more than half of the length of head. Eyes present, laid in front of midlength of the sides of and about 1/4 of the length of head. Antennal scapes not reaching occipital border; funicular segments broader than long except the 1st and terminal ones which longer than broad. Pronotum flat in profile view, mesonotum slightly convex, mesopropodeal suture slightly impressed. Propodeal declivity short, distinctly marginate, conjunction between basal face and declivity blunt rounded. Anterior face of petiolar node slightly convex, posterior face straight. Subpetiolar process low and transparent strip narrow. Gaster lower than petiolar node, anterior face vertical and slightly concave. Constriction between basal two gastral segments indistinct. Sting developed.
Head densely punctate, punctures on alitrunk finer, smoother than head. Punctures on petiole and gaster finer than alitrunk. Erect hairs sparse. Pubescence yellow, short, abundant.
Color brownish to reddish-brown, mandibles, antennae and legs orange red.
