Nomenclature
The following information is derived from Barry Bolton's Online Catalogue of the Ants of the World.
- asiriensis. Cataglyphis asiriensis Collingwood, 1985: 286, fig. 76 (w.) SAUDI ARABIA.
- Type-material: holotype worker, paratype workers (number not stated).
- Type-locality: holotype Saudi Arabia: Sawdah Mt, 3000 m., 9.iv.1983 (C.A. Collingwood); paratypes with same data.
- Type-depository: NHMB (perhaps also WMLC).
- [Note: in this publication much type-material was referred to NHMB but was apparently never deposited there.]
- Status as species: Agosti, 1990b: 1483; Bolton, 1995b: 134; Borowiec, L. 2014: 52.
- Distribution: Saudi Arabia.
