Description

One new species of Camponotus Mayr was from Xingdou mountains, Lichuan city, Hubei Province. The type specimens are deposited at Institute of Zoology, Shanxi Teacher's University. Camponotu xingdoushanensis sp. nov. (Fig. 1) The new species is very similar to C. pseudoirritans Wu et Wang, but differs from the latter in the following aspects: its petiole is thick, the anterior face convex, and the posterior face is cenvex slightly. Its alitrunk is dull, but its gaster is smooth and shinning. In worker, the major anternal scapes are shorter, only 2/5 of their length, and project beyond the occipital margin; the body of the worker is medium in seze, the hind part of the head does not become narrow coudadly.
