- Type-material: syntype major and minor workers, syntype queens. syntype males (numbers not stated).
- Type-locality: Colombia: (no further data) (on bananas from Colombia, intercepted at Basle, Switzerland) (E. Handschin).
- Type-depository: MHML (perhaps also NHMB).
- Subspecies of sexguttatus: Santschi, 1936b: 218; Kusnezov, 1952d: 224; Kempf, 1972a: 58; Bolton, 1995b: 117.
- Distribution: Colombia.
