- Type-material: syntype major and minor workers (numbers not stated, “numerous”).
- Type-locality: Mexico: Hidalgo, San Miguel, 7000 ft, 1913 (W.M. Mann).
- Type-depository: MCZC (perhaps also USNM).
- Combination in C. (Myrmobrachys): Emery, 1920b: 260;
- combination in C. (Myrmaphaenus): Emery, 1925b: 156.
- Status as species: Emery, 1925b: 156; Kempf, 1972a: 47; Bolton, 1995b: 116.
- Distribution: Mexico.
