- Type-material: syntype minor workers (number not stated).
- Type-localities: Colombia: foot of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Naranjo, 17.ii.-17.iii.1896 (A. Forel) (invalid restriction of type-locality by Kempf, 1972a: 49; no lectotype designated), Costa Rica: (no further data) (A. Tonduz).
