- Type-material: holotype minor worker.
- Type-locality: Indonesia: Sumatra (C. Klaesi).
- Type-depository: unknown (“collection Autran”; perhaps MHNG).
- Combination in Camponotus (Rhinomyrmex): Emery, 1896d: 374.
- Status as species: Dalla Torre, 1893: 219; Emery, 1896d: 374 (in list); Emery, 1925b: 143; Chapman & Capco, 1951: 243; Bolton, 1995b: 106.
