- Type-material: holotype queen.
- Type-locality: Australia: Northern Territory, Palm Creek (no collector’s name; perhaps Spencer).
- Type-depository: MVMA (or perhaps BMNH).
- [Unresolved junior primary homonym of Camponotus horni Kirby, W.F. 1896: 205 (Bolton, 1995b: 103).]
- Status as species: Shattuck, 1993: 128; Bolton, 1995b: 103; McArthur, 2014: 168 (incorrectly attributed to Kirby).
