- hildebrandti. Camponotus hildebrandti Forel, 1886f: 161 (w.q.) MADAGASCAR.
- Type-material: syntype minor workers (number not stated), 1 syntype queen.
- Type-locality: Madagascar: “Centre de Madagascar” (no further data) (J.M. Hildebrandt).
- Type-depository: MNHU (perhaps also MHNG).
- Combination in C. (Dinomyrmex): Forel, 1914a: 268;
- combination in C. (Tanaemyrmex): Emery, 1925b: 85.
- Status as species: Forel, 1891b: 14 (redescription); Dalla Torre, 1893: 235; Emery, 1896d: 370 (in list); Wheeler, W.M. 1922a: 1043; Emery, 1925b: 85; Bolton, 1995b: 103.
- Distribution: Madagascar.
