- Type-material: syntype major and minor workers (numbers not stated, “large numbers”).
- Type-locality: Zimbabwe (“Southern Rhodesia”): Hunyani (G. Arnold).
- Type-depository: SAMC (perhaps also BMNH).
- Status as species: Bolton, 1995b: 97.
- Distribution: Zimbabwe.
