- Type-material: 5 syntype major and minor workers, 2 syntype queens.
- Type-localities: 5 workers, 1 queen Bolivia: Mapiri (no collector’s name) (from Staudinger & Bang-Haas) (invalid restriction of type-locality by Kempf, 1972a: 51; no lectotype designated), 1 queen Brazil: Pará (Schulz).
- Type-depository: MSNG.
- Status as species: Emery, 1925b: 165; Kempf, 1972a: 51; Bolton, 1995b: 94.
