- sculpturata. Pachycondyla (Bothroponera) sculpturata Santschi, 1912b: 151 (q.) MOZAMBIQUE.
- Type-material: 2 syntype queens.
- [Note:Baroni Urbani, 1973b: 134, cites 1q syntype NHMB (as ‘holotype’).]
- Type-localities: 1 queen with no state data (probably Zimbabwe): Zambezi (F. Demarchi) (invalid restriction of type-locality by Wheeler, W.M. 1922a: 772; no lectotype designated), 1 queen Mozambique: Prov. de Gorongoza, Tendo du Sungoué, 40 m., 1907 (G. Vasse).
- Type-depositories: MNHN, NHMB.
- Combination in Bothroponera: Schmidt, C.A. & Shattuck, 2014: 76.
- Subspecies of pumicosa: Wheeler, W.M. 1922a: 772; Bolton, 1995b: 309.
