Records from European countries based on wide interpretation of Aphaenogaster testaceopilosa. Recently this taxon is restricted to the Algeria while in European parts of Mediterranean Bassin occur another species described in the past as infraspecific forms of Aphaenogaster testaceopilosa (see Boer, 2013, cited in Borowiec, 2014).
