- Type-material: holotype worker, 13 paratype workers.
- Type-locality: holotype Italy: Campania, Mt Faito, 1100 m., 14.iv.1966 (B. Poldi); paratypes with same data.
- Type-depositories: MSNM (holotype); BMNH, MIZW, MSNM (paratypes).
- Status as species: Bolton, 1995b: 395; Poldi, et al. 1995: 6; Borowiec, L. 2014: 164; Lebas, et al. 2016: 338.
- Distribution: Italy.
