  • Type-material: syntype workers, syntype queens (numbers not stated, “one colony”).
  • Type-locality: South Sudan (“Anglo-Egyptian Sudan”): Imatong Mts, 9200 ft, 28.vii.1939, no. 1356 (N.A. Weber).
  • Type-depository: MCZC (perhaps also in AMNH).
  • Subspecies of punctaticeps: Ettershank, 1966: 141; Bolton, 1995b: 388.
  • Distribution: South Sudan.
