BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Zoological Museum of the University of Berlin. Julius Roger, a physician held the Post of Public Health and Anatomy in the small town of Rauden in Upper Silesia.
ANT TAXONOMY
A number of species, notably Ponerines, were described by Julius Roger in a short series of papers (1859, 1860, 1862a, 1862b). A good deal of Roger's taxonomic work was taken up correcting Frederick Smith's mistakes and he thus became the first of several investigators who were forced to labor at this uncongenial task.
ROGER COLLECTION
