Countries Occupied
Number of countries occupied by this species based on AntWiki Regional Taxon Lists. In general, fewer countries occupied indicates a narrower range, while more countries indicates a more widespread species. |
Estimated Abundance
Relative abundance based on number of AntMaps records per species (this species within the purple bar). Fewer records (to the left) indicates a less abundant/encountered species while more records (to the right) indicates more abundant/encountered species. |
Biology
Ward (1992) - One does not get the impression that the West Indies are a haven for relicts in the genus Pseudomyrmex. One exception is provided by the endemic Hispaniolan species, P. haytianus. This species is not a member of any of the major species groups and is one of the few extant species of Pseudomyrmex which shows any obvious affinities with the Dominican amber fauna.

Description
Worker
E is seus caracteres:
Comprimento total 8,2 mm; comprimento da capsula cefalica 1,57 mm; largura da capsula cefalica 1,09 mm; comprimento do torax 2,34 mm. — indices: cefalico 69; oculo-cefalico 41. Femures dianteiros conspicuamente engrossados.
