Nomenclature
The following information is derived from Barry Bolton's Online Catalogue of the Ants of the World.
- polynikes. Cerapachys (Cerapachys) polynikes Wilson, 1959b: 50 (w.) NEW GUINEA (Papua New Guinea).
- Type-material: holotype worker, 7 paratype workers.
- Type-locality: holotype Papua New Guinea: Lower Busu River, nr Lae, 4.v.1955, no. 936 (E.O. Wilson); paratypes with same data.
- Type-depositories: MCZC, NHMB.
- Combination in Parasyscia: Borowiec, M.L. 2016: 205.
- Status as species: Brown, 1975: 23; Bolton, 1995b: 144.
