This rarely encountered species is known from only two specimens from southeastern China.

  • Chen et al., 2022, Fig. 26. Parasyscia nigrita. Holotype worker. Head in full-face view (A), distribution map (B), body in dorsal view (C), body in lateral view (D).

Concolorous species, whole body black. Petiole appears square in lateral view, with straight anterior and posterior margins, dorsum slightly convex. Frontal portion of head deeply foveolate-reticulate, posterior portion of head with deep puncta; dorsum of mesosoma with sparse shallow puncta, lateral portion of propodeum deeply foveolate-reticulate.

This species is very similar to Parasyscia browni and Parasyscia dohertyi, but can be separated from them by the combination of the following characters:

  • posterior portion of head with deep puncta
  • tergite of abdominal segment III with scattered wide and shallow puncta in dorsal view
