  • Type-locality: holotype Oman: Marmul, ix.1989 (M.D. Gallagher); paratypes: workers with same data, workers Oman: Yalooni, 3.x.1984 (M.D. Gallagher), workers Oman: Yalooni, 18.xi.1984 (R. Braund), workers Oman: Minitirib, 14.i.1986 (M.D. Gallagher).
  • Type-depository: NHMB (possibly also in WMLC, possibly in OMHN if Gallagher material has been retained there).
  • Status as species: Borowiec, L. 2014: 121.
  • Junior synonym of areniphilum: Sharaf, Mohamed, Boudinot, et al. 2021: 23.
