    • Type-material: holotype worker.
    • Type-locality: Israel (“Palestine”): Wadi Kelt, no.192 (F.S. Bodenheimer).
    • Type-depository: IEUB (or perhaps in HUJI).
    • Subspecies of bicolor: Santschi, 1936a: 38; Ettershank, 1966: 90; Bolton, 1995b: 263; Vonshak, et al. 2009: 43.
    • Status as species: Tohmé, G. & Tohmé, 2014: 135.
    • Distribution: Israel, Lebanon.
