Countries Occupied
Number of countries occupied by this species based on AntWiki Regional Taxon Lists. In general, fewer countries occupied indicates a narrower range, while more countries indicates a more widespread species. |
Estimated Abundance
Relative abundance based on number of AntMaps records per species (this species within the purple bar). Fewer records (to the left) indicates a less abundant/encountered species while more records (to the right) indicates more abundant/encountered species. |

Description
Worker
Holotype: HL 0.95; HW 0.82; SL 0.85; EL 0.27 (15 ommatidia in the longest row).
This species falls within the general description of Monomorium areniphilum but the ventral head is entirely bare of hairs. The alitrunk profile is also flatter with a more shallow mesopropodeal furrow.
Type Material
Holotype: worker, Oman, Wadi Diri, 16.V.1984, M.D. Gallagher. - Paratypes: Oman: workers, same series as holotype; workers from: Wahiba Sands, 14.XII.1985; Mintirib, 1.III.1986; all M.D. Gallagher.
