- Type-material: holotype male.
- Type-locality: Brazil: S Pará, Serra do Cachimbo, between Xingu and Tapajoz, catchment area of the Tapajoz, 420 m., 9°22’S, 54°54’W, ix.1953, at light (H. Sick).
- Type-depository: MZSP.
- Subspecies of nero: Kempf, 1972a: 127; Bolton, 1995b: 219.
- Subspecies of mars: Nascimento, et al. 2004: 618 (by implication).
- Distribution: Brazil.
