    • Type-material: holotype male.
    • Type-locality: Malawi (“Nyasaland”): Blomtyre (= Blantyre), 31.x.1907 (G. Arnold).
    • Type-depository: NHMB.
    • Subspecies of affinis: Wheeler, W.M. 1922a: 729; Menozzi, 1933a: 94; Menozzi, 1939c: 98; Bolton, 1995b: 180.
    • Distribution: Ethiopia, Malawi, Uganda.
