- Type-material: holotype worker.
- Type-locality: Papua New Guinea: Northern Prov., nr Kokoda (8°52’S, 147°45’E), 500 m., 1.vi.1972, ANIC berlesate 385, rainforest leaf mould (R.W. Taylor).
- Type-depository: ANIC.
- Status as species: Bolton, 1995b: 168.
- Distribution: Papua New Guinea.
