- Type-material: holotype (?) worker.

- Type-locality: unknown.
- [Note: this taxon was published without any locality data. Most Crematogaster material mentioned in the publication was collected in the Democratic Republic of Congo (“Congo belge”), during 1920-21, by H. Schouteden; rustica possibly conforms to this pattern.]
- Type-depository: MRAC.
