- Type-material: holotype worker.
- Type-locality: Democratic Republic of Congo (“Belgian Congo”): Ubangi Dist., Libenge, 25.x.1910 (Schubotz).
- Type-depository: Zoological Museum Hamburg (Stitz, 1916: 371).
- [Note: Hamburg zoological museum was destroyed in World War II; but holotype may perhaps be in MNHU or ZMUH.]
- Combination in C. (Sphaerocrema): Wheeler, W.M. 1922a: 847.
