    • Type-localities: South Africa: Vrijburg, 1893 (E. Simon) (invalid restriction of type-locality by Wheeler, W.M. 1922a: 847; no lectotype designated), South Africa, Bloemfontein, 1893 (E. Simon), Botswana (“Bechuanaland”): (no further data) (E. Simon).
    • [Note: this taxon is based on C. kneri Mayr, sensu Emery, 1895h: 27, misidentification.]
    • Type-depository: MSNG (possibly also MRHN).
    • [Misspelled as kottentota by Menozzi, 1942: 169.]
