- Type-material: syntype workers, syntype queens, syntype males (numbers not stated).
- Type-locality: Zimbabwe (“S Rhodesia”): Mashonaland, 1889 (no collector’s name) (received from Donisthorpe).
- Type-depositories: BMNH, NHMB.
- Status as species: Bolton, 1995b: 152.
- Distribution: Zimbabwe.
