    • Type-material: 1 syntype queen, ca 40 syntype males.
    • Type-locality: Australia: Norfolk I., 300 ft, 28.vii.1939, “swarming” (I. McComish).
    • Type-depository: BMNH.
    • Combination in Carebara: Fernández, 2004a: 235.
    • Subspecies of manni: Ettershank, 1966: 124.
    • Status as species: Taylor & Brown, 1985: 72; Taylor, 1987a: 50; Bolton, 1995b: 300.
    • Distribution: Australia.
