- Type-material: syntype minor workers (number not stated).
- Type-locality: Zimbabwe (“Southern Rhodesia”): Khami (G. Arnold).
- Type-depository: SAMC.

- Status as species: Ettershank, 1966: 123; Bolton, 1995b: 299.
